About Travelodge Newcastle Seaton Burn

Newcastle Airport and Newcastle Racecourse are both a short drive from Travelodge Newcastle Seaton Burn, making it a practical base whether you're catching a flight, heading to the races, or simply passing through on the A1/A19. A golf course is also nearby for those wanting to fit in a round, and there's no shortage of pubs and restaurants close to the hotel for an evening meal without having to travel far.

The hotel has 40 rooms across two floors, all with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available in the room, plus accessible rooms for those who need them. There's a restaurant on site, 24 hour reception, and free on-site parking, though spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so it's worth arriving in good time. An electric vehicle charge point is also available, and pets are welcome.

Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the location works well for anyone travelling by car given the easy access to the A1 and A19. Some guests have noted that rooms can feel tired and that noise travels between them, so light sleepers may want to bear this in mind. As a straightforward, well-placed stop for travellers rather than a destination in itself, it does the job it sets out to do.

We stayed here on our way to Edinburgh. Receptionist was very nice however the room has some strange smell. We went in summers so windows were open and there was traffic noise till late night so sleep was not comfortable. The place is only good if you are over night stay however I would recommend staying inside New castle as one can explore the city.

Good location if you want to get to Newcastle. The hotel looks uncared for inside and out. On arrival there was a group of people smoking right outside the front door, which itself looked like it's been crowbarred several times. They could do with a smoking area away from the main door. The room was ok, it was a family room with pullout beds. No hairdryer or iron but I think you can get them from reception. Despite asking for extra bedding before my stay, on arrival and at least twice during my stay, it never arrived. I had to go to reception and get it myself after midnight on returning from an all-day wedding. The night receptionist was lovely and very helpful. The rest seemed to just say anything to me to get rid of me. It's ok for one night but overall, it's a bleak and depressing looking place that needs some proper tlc.

I understand this is a cheap hotel, it’s in an ideal place too. With dining just outside. But cheap should only mean there’s no luxuries, and cleanliness isn’t a luxury. Staying here genuinely made us feel dirty. The standard for these rooms is incredibly low. If you really need a cheap place for one night it’s doable. Some issues we faced: Bathroom sink plug; kept sealing shut and unable to open. According to staff it’s a common issue and they proceeded to hit it with a metal pole. Stuck again and requested help but no one showed. The curtains weren’t blackout, which we can accept is more of a luxury. No plug sockets near the bed. Poor quality windows, able to hear every sound, mould on seals. Toilet went through phases of not flushing. Build up of dust on carpet in “harder to hoover” areas, rubbish from previous guests under bed, footprints and dribbles (?) on walls, brown marks like food on kettle and mugs, mould and rust in bathroom. Seems the whole place is in need of a major refurbishment or a deep clean and maintenance at minimum. Wouldn’t stay again unfortunately.

You get what you pay for.At £30 for a night it was great. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Bedroom was clean, bit of mould in the bathroom and dust in the extractor fan but shower was hot, clean towels and good shower gel. Would return.
