Waveney River Centre

We had a fantastic stay at this campsite and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the site is exceptionally well maintained, with everything kept spotless and presented to a very high standard. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by lovely countryside that creates a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. The toilet and shower facilities were excellent, always clean, modern and well looked after, which really made a difference during our stay. There is also a handy little shop on site that stocks all the essentials, making it easy to pick up anything you might have forgotten. The pub was another real highlight, serving good food and drinks in a friendly atmosphere, and it was the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the local area. The surrounding area is well worth visiting, with plenty of scenic walks and interesting places to explore nearby. Whether you're travelling as a couple, with friends or as a family, this campsite has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We genuinely couldn't fault it, thoroughly enjoyed every minute, and will definitely be returning in the future. It's one of the nicest campsites we've visited and deserves every one of its five stars.

We stayed at Escape Spa 1 for a week last year as a treat for my partner’s birthday. We re-booked this year hoping to enjoy another stay but received a phone call TWO DAYS before our stay stating that the hotel tub was broken and wouldn’t be fixed in time for our stay or during it. Their solution? - Offering us other accommodation? Not on site but in Great Yarmouth or Hemsby. Not places we’d choose to stay. - Offering us a discount for staying there without the hot tub? 50 pounds given back despite having to bring our own food, pay for fuel to get there AND pay for on-sight wifi. - Offering us their availability at different times of the year. Not at a discounted price meaning we’d have to pay double (or MORE) to stay there. If not, wait for autumn/winter time where it’ll be colder and not great weather. Also not fitting to the occasion since we were meant to be going away for my partner’s birthday. - Offer us a full refund. Yes, please. Overall, we are disappointed with how this situation has been handled. Offering a higher discount might have tempted is as their is a pool on sight we could still enjoy (ALSO SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR DESPITE PAYING FOR ON-SIGHT ACCOMMODATION).

Had a week long break here in a cabin... The cabin was ok.... Could be a lot better and have to pay for WiFi.... The cafe place is hardly ever open... And there is absolutely nothing to do... Not even a nice walk along the river... Just a tiny long single track road in and out... The park looks very tired and unloved to be honest... It needs a lot of work... Swimming pool is tiny and so old fashioned and you have to book even though no one is in it... The worse thing is the cabin was always full of mosquito and I had to go around every night before bed killing them as you get bitten all night. Don't think I'll be back

We stayed at Waverley River Centre Lodge over half term with my friend and our two children (aged 9 and 2), and we were really pleasantly surprised by the lodge. After almost a 5-hour drive, it was so nice to arrive somewhere that was warm, clean and tidy. Even though it was half term, the site was actually very quiet and peaceful. We quickly learnt that the hot tub was maintained daily, which was very reassuring as it meant the chemical levels were always being checked properly. There’s a small park for the children and an on-site swimming pool (which does need to be pre-booked). There is also a pub and a small shop on-site that has all the essentials you might need. The grounds are lovely for a walk, which was perfect as I brought my dog along too. Most of all, the staff were friendly and kind throughout our stay. If I ever visit Norfolk again, I would definitely stay here — and maybe next time I’ll even try sailing a boat!
