Alt Ardoch Cottage sits in an elevated spot on the Isle of Arran, within reach of Lamlash village and its working pier, the nearby Buddhist community on Holy Isle accessible by small ferry, and a stretch of coastline where seals regularly bask on rocks. Forest trails wind through the pines above the cottage, while Glenashdale Falls and the Giant's Graves lie a couple of miles south in Whiting Bay. The shore and coastal boardwalk are reachable on foot from the house.
The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms—one with a zip-and-link double, one with a double bed—and has a bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, and there's a separate dining room. Upstairs, the lounge has views across the bay and the mountains beyond, with Freeview TV and a sitting-out area to make the most of them. Essentials including bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are covered; there is private parking for two cars. No smoking is permitted, though one well-behaved pet can stay at no extra charge.
Sea kayaking and powerboat trips operate from Lamlash Bay. Local independent shops, galleries, golf, and various seasonal activities cluster in Whiting Bay and the surrounding villages. The cottage works well for families, walkers, and anyone wanting a quiet base on an island with genuine things to do within easy reach.
