An Cala

An Cala comes fully equipped for a week without a shopping trip. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the usual appliances; there's a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer; heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are here if needed. You get parking for four cars, bike storage under the verandah, and an enclosed garden—though it's tiered with some drops and has an unfenced stream, so families with young children should know that upfront.

Upstairs and down, the house runs to five bedrooms and three bathrooms across two floors. The ground floor holds a sun room with patio doors onto the garden, a super king ensuite bedroom, two further bedrooms, and a family bathroom. Upstairs there's a living and dining room with a 42-inch smart TV and balcony access, the kitchen, a cinema room with a 52-inch screen, a king ensuite bedroom, and a separate toilet. Bed sizes vary from a super king down to a single, so eight people can stay here comfortably, though not all in doubles.

North Ayrshire's coastal location puts you within reach of Arran's beaches, mountain scenery and outdoor activities—kayaking, mountain biking, scrambling and more are on the doorstep. No smoking indoors, but one well-behaved dog can come along for free.
