Downstairs there's a twin room with two single beds, and upstairs a room with a kingsize bed plus a single. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. Everything is fitted out for independent cooking: the kitchen has an electric oven, hob, fridge-freezer and washing machine, plus a breakfast bar for casual meals. The living room centres on an electric fire with plush seating arranged to face large windows. From here, views reach out to sea. An enclosed garden with barbecue is yours alone, and there's parking for one car nearby at Montrose Terrace.

We booked last minute through holiday cottages. Overall, I'd say this is a very average house for the price you pay. We paid roughly £600 for 3 nights and for that price, I expect better. We actually left a night early because of the issues. The house overall smells of mould. There is mould in several places in most rooms. The beds are old and creaky and the mattresses are not comfortable, not sure when they were last replaced as also stained. The furniture overall needs an overhaul , the tv for example, from the 2000's, you can pick up a smart tv for next to nothing these days. The kitchen seems like a recent addition and while that was appreciated, we had to wash everything because nothing was clean. The pictures in the previous review are accurate. The best thing about this house is the location, you can't beat it. The views are stunning for some, that will be worth it.

Certainly not luxury as described! House smells damp. On returning home I had to rewash all our clothes because the damp smell had ingressed to the suitcases, which also had to receive treatment to get rid of the mouldy smell. Information states welcome pack, washing machine in kitchen and accommodation for 4. Should say 2 adults and 2 children. There was no welcome pack or washing machine, though kitchen seems to gave been recently put in. Lounge seating not sufficient for 4 adults to sit comfortably. Seating, including dining chairs, grubby and need shampooing. Kitchen floor covering a trip hazard. Shared washing machine and drier available in a separate building. Bathroom in need of renewal. Mould in shower looks as though no attempt has been made to clean it for years, it stretches to about halfway up shower cubicle. Stained mattress cover but photo doesn't show this well. Lovely views across to Holy Isle and Ayrshire mainland. Large garden.
