A 14th-century country house on the Isle of Arran, Kilmichael retains the character of one of the island's oldest continuously inhabited buildings. Now restored, it stands on three acres of private grounds with parking for eight cars, offering the kind of self-contained space that suits groups or extended families looking to stay together without leaving the property.

The house has six bedrooms spread across three floors, each with its own ensuite bathroom. Ground-floor spaces include a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen for cooking from scratch. Upstairs are multiple sitting rooms—one with a piano, others with wood-burning stoves—and additional bathrooms. Essentials like bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are provided. Outside, a firepit and sitting-out area overlook the grounds; inside, there's space enough for guests to naturally separate or gather as the mood takes.

The property suits those wanting to bring a dog (one pet welcome), though smoking is not permitted. It works for family reunions, group holidays, or simply a larger party wanting the freedom of a whole house to themselves. The Isle of Arran's landscapes and walking are on the doorstep.

What a stunning property on the gorgeous island of Arran. We have stayed in many houses over the years but Kilmichael was special. Set amongst gorgeous grounds the house just looks special as you arrive up the private drive. Inside it's a warren of lovely rooms, it takes a wee while to take it all in ! The house is a described, a perfect blend of modern with old charm and it is as described. We loved the peacocks. It is a perfect house for large family gatherings but with plenty space to enjoy relaxing in the comfortable lounges. It is within walking distance of all that Brodick has to offer. We look forward to coming back.

We had such a brilliant few days at Kilmichael House—it’s one of those places that feels special from the moment you arrive. The location couldn’t be more convenient, just a short distance from the ferry port and very easy to find, yet it still feels peaceful and private. The house itself is full of personality, with plenty of charm and character throughout. It strikes that perfect balance between being impressive and homely, so you feel instantly comfortable while still enjoying the sense of staying somewhere unique. We spent our days making the most of everything the Isle of Arran has to offer—there are so many beautiful walks nearby, all with incredible scenery. Having the swimming pool at the club next door was a real bonus too, especially as we were travelling with our one-year-old. If you have time, a visit to the Arran Distillery is well worth it—such a great experience and something a bit different to add to your trip. The house itself really makes an impression. Set at the end of a private road, it feels secluded and exclusive, and it certainly has that “wow” factor when you step inside. With the wood-burning fires going, it was incredibly cosy and had such a warm, inviting atmosphere. It’s an ideal place for groups, whether family or friends. There’s plenty of space for everyone, and having individual bathrooms made everything feel that bit more relaxed and comfortable. You can easily spend time all together or find your own quiet space when you need it. All in all, Kilmichael House is a fantastic place to stay—full of character, beautifully comfortable, and perfectly located. We made some wonderful memories here and would absolutely love to return.

Absolute heaven. Situated in beautiful wooded location that is amazingly only 5 minutes from Brodick centre. We stay here usually twice a year in one of the cottages and will do so for the foreseeable future. The owners are absolute gents and couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommended but remember you are not at Center Parks and you are on an island, some things may not be EXACTLY as you require at times but go with the flow and have a relaxing break.
