Seacliffe

The Isle of Arran spreads across 19 miles of coastline and mountainous interior, with quiet villages tucked between dramatic peaks and sheltered beaches. Seacliffe sits in this landscape close to Whiting Bay, a secluded spot where the grounds slope down toward water views and the kind of sunrises that define island mornings. The property stands on its own, with a back garden, patio and sitting area looking out over the coast—the sort of place where you could spend an entire day doing very little.

Inside, three bedrooms sleep six: a king on the ground floor with an ensuite shower room, a double upstairs, and two singles. The ground floor opens into a living room with Freeview TV, a conservatory dining area where the sea views continue over meals, and a kitchen with the basics for self-catering—electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave among them. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are covered in the price. The grounds include a pond and stream, and there are steps in places; a travel cot and highchair are available if needed. Parking fits two cars.

Arran suits walkers, mountain bikers and anyone after coastal scenery, though you can equally stay put and eat your way around the island—local cheeses, distillery tours, oatcakes and ice cream are part of the appeal. No smoking inside. One dog stays free.
