Isle of Arran sits far enough from the mainland to feel like escape, yet close enough for a straightforward ferry crossing. The Shieling is a 19th-century cottage a short drive from Blackwaterfoot, with windows framing seascapes toward the Kintyre peninsula. One dog can stay free of charge.
Downstairs holds a sitting room with woodburner, television and games, plus a kitchen that has everything needed to cook proper meals—oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine and coffee machine included. The first bedroom, on this level, contains a double and a single bed with an en-suite shower room. Upstairs, the second bedroom is a kingsize, served by a bathroom with a raised Jacuzzi bath positioned to make the most of those Kintyre views. Bed linen, towels, electricity, heating and Wi-Fi are all provided. There is parking for one car and an enclosed garden with patio.
The island itself supports wildlife from basking sharks to seals, and Lochranza offers a short ferry to explore Kintyre. Walking, cycling and quiet coastal drives are the main rhythm here; the only traffic delays come from sheep crossing the road.
