Brilliant food, service, and beverages. Lovely dining room. So impressive that it’s a two person operation. Chloe is brilliant front of house. The menu was a lot of fun and we got to try some really interesting flavour combinations, especially on the cherry, white chocolate, and woodruff dessert. Second visit and just as good as the first. It’s got to be the best restauraunt in north Devon.

Fabulous evening. Tasting menu was modern and unique. Party of 4 to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We all loved it. Chloe looked after us front of house. The spacing between dishes was perfect. All of the dishes by the chef were executed to extremely professional high level. We have eaten in many a Michelin restaurant, and even though this doesn't have stars its up there with the best. Excellent evening, flavours amazing. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend Number Eight.

We had the best evening at No 8 last night. Wonderfully attentive friendly service from Chloe, stunning creative and delicious food from Joshua in a beautiful setting. Hard to believe it is just the two of them producing such a fantastic dining experience, the attention to detail and passion for what they do shines through. This restaurant compares favourably to much more expensive Michelin starred restaurants we have been to. Highly recommend and we can't wait to go again.

Third visit and probably the last. You can only choose a tasting menu with no alternatives and the quality is good, not exceptional. For the price charged, it should be. Service is pleasant if not rushed. You can easiy see that the co-owner and waitress/maitre de/cloakroom depositer et all is rushed off her feet allowing zero time to interact with guests. Dare to linger on a question and before you know it, Chloe has disappeared. I wouldn't be surprised if Joshua fits her up with powered roller skates in the not too distant future. It's commendable that a husband and wife team have established a restaurant offering above average food quality in a small Devon town like Bideford. However, the flat-out pace endured by front of house is tiresome and doesn't promote a relaxed dining experience. The food also needs to step up several levels at this price point. Trying too hard? Maybe.
