The Shepherdess Hut

North Devon

View on Google Maps

Couples and small groups looking for a quiet rural base will find The Shepherdess Hut fits the bill. This handcrafted wooden hut sleeps two in a king-size bed and offers everything needed for a self-catering break: a fitted kitchen with gas cooking, a shower room, and a sitting area. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and wifi are all provided. There is parking for two cars and a garden with seating and a firepit outside.

The hut sits at the end of a country track in North Devon farm land, surrounded by open fields where deer and pheasants are commonly spotted. From here, the North Devon coastline is roughly five miles away. Ilfracombe harbour, with its restaurants and colourful seafront, makes a natural first stop; beyond it stretch the dramatic cliffs and sandy beaches of the region, including Woolacombe and Croyde, plus sections of the South West Coast Path for walking. The setting works well as a base for exploring both the rural interior and the coast without noise or neighbours nearby. No smoking is permitted in the hut.
