Meadow Cottage is a substantial stone cottage within the Trimstone Manor estate near Ilfracombe. Built with traditional character, it sits on rural grounds that include woodland, gardens and a small stream, creating a sense of settled countryside rather than close-packed holiday lets. The property sleeps seven across four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with enough space to absorb different group dynamics—families with teenagers, or friends mixing ages.
The layout spreads across two floors with a practical ground level: a large kitchen and dining space opens into a separate living room, and there is a shower room tucked away downstairs. Upstairs, two staircases lead to distinct bedroom wings, meaning some guests can be quiet while others are awake. One side has a double with beamed ceilings and a single room; the other holds the main bedroom with countryside views and a second double. You have bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity included, and the kitchen is fitted for cooking proper meals. Parking is on site.
The estate opens its indoor pool, gym and games room to guests. Beyond the garden, Woolacombe Beach lies within reach for swimming and walking, and North Devon's villages and attractions spread across the wider area. The property is no-smoking, and check-in is after 4pm with departure before 10am.

If your looking for a quiet family get away trimstone is the place to go.. we stayed in the granary and it’s absolutely stunning. Old quirky style cottages which give it the character. Lovely indoor pool and some animals to see too. We really enjoyed our stay. Ilfracombe is a 10 min drive and woolacombe is a 10 min drive from where you are in trimstone. The manager is a lovely lady and goes above and beyond. All in all a great experience.

Step back in time to a quirky countryside dreamscape. We stopped off for a cream tea with our children and could not be more pleased that we did. The owners and staff were a delight and the cream tea was scrumptious. Our children loved the wide variety of pet poultry. We will be back.

If you like classic English hotel in the country side, this is for you. Really classic, vintage and great experience for a whole families. Homey vibes, quiet, and also green views every morning. The reception lady really lovely and make our experience went smoothly. Got indoor pool with heating water also sauna. Emu birds and peacocks are lovely too. My kids loves to see them. Got simple breakfast and delicious for a whole families (you need to booked before).

Just returned home from 4 night stay with my 90 year old mother. Staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were lovely, quirky with modern en suite. Grounds beautiful with gorgeous views and unusual animals including peacocks around the place. Lovely swimming pool with a sauna. Would highly recommend as a place to stay if like North Devon.
