Couples and small families will find The Old Church an unusual and well-equipped base in rural Derbyshire. This converted chapel retains original architectural details—arched windows, exposed stone, cast-iron radiators—while offering contemporary facilities throughout. Two bedrooms sleep four: one with a king bed and ensuite, the other with zip-and-link single beds and ensuite. A third bathroom on the ground floor has a slipper bath. The property is non-smoking.
Living spaces are generous. The ground floor holds a sitting room with a 43-inch smart TV and woodburner, a dining room with countryside views, and a kitchen fitted with a dishwasher, electric cooker and coffee machine. There is also a utility room with a washer-dryer. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available for those with young children. Outside, a lawned courtyard has patio furniture and a BBQ, with parking for two cars on site.
The hamlet of Alton lies near Ashover and within six miles of Matlock, putting the Peak District within reach for walking and exploring.
