Beach Cottage is a characterful property formed from two converted fishermen's cottages, now a single eight-person retreat in Holt. The building retains original features—low ceilings, exposed beams, distinctive cupboard staircases—which give it genuine charm but mean the winding steps cannot accommodate young children or those with mobility difficulties. Nearly all living spaces look out across the Cley Bird Reserve towards the sea, an uninterrupted vista that dominates the setting.
The ground floor contains a living and dining room with a woodburner, a snug with armchairs, a shower room, and a well-equipped kitchen with electric cooker, hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and microwave. Upstairs are four bedrooms: two doubles, a bunk room and a single, along with a bathroom with bath and shower. Electricity, bed linen, towels, wifi and logs for the stove are all included. The enclosed south-facing garden has been planted with scented herbs and includes a patio with furniture; parking is off-road at the front.
The Old Reading Room Tea Room & Gallery is nearby. The beach is within walking distance, and the location suits those drawn to the Cley marshes for birdwatching or simply wanting a quiet base. No smoking throughout.
