The Old Butlers House

North Norfolk

Cley is a quiet coastal village in North Norfolk, surrounded by salt marshes and a nature reserve famous for birdwatching. The Old Butlers House stands in its own walled garden near the village centre, with the beach and marshland within easy walking distance. This is the self-contained wing of a Georgian hall, built to last and full of character—high ceilings, an open fireplace, and from the first floor, glimpses across the marshes towards the sea.

Three bedrooms sleep seven: a double and two twin rooms, one with a pull-out single bed for flexibility. The bathroom has both a bath and shower cubicle. Downstairs, the living room has a Freeview TV and working fireplace (logs provided), a separate dining room, and a kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer—everything needed for a week's cooking and laundry. Wifi, electricity and bed linen come as standard. There is parking for one car on the property, and the enclosed garden has seating and a barbecue.

The location suits anyone drawn to outdoor Norfolk: the marshes are on your doorstep for birdwatching and nature photography, Sheringham offers swimming and golf five miles away, and Cley's pubs and a shop are close by. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking inside.
