North Norfolk

This single-storey converted barn sits on the Norfolk coast within reach of Cromer's sandy beach, pier and seafront, yet set back from the road on its own grounds for peace and quiet. The Wash House sleeps six across three bedrooms—a kingsize with ensuite shower, a double, and two singles—plus two bathrooms. Everything is on one level, with an open-plan living space that includes a woodburner, a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and coffee machine, and patio doors opening onto a lawned courtyard with garden furniture.

The essentials are covered: heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with logs for the woodburner. There is private parking for three cars. The property draws its water from a borehole. Cromer itself offers places to eat, drink and shop within a short drive. The Norfolk Broads lie close by for boat hire, and heading either direction along the coast reveals a succession of beach villages and National Trust sites. Norwich is accessible for its museums and history. No smoking.

The house is beautiful and very comfortable. The view overlooking the fields and sheep was especially lovely. The fire was also an added bonus and made our stay very cosy! Additionally, the owners were very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be staying again in the near future!

By far one of the loveliest places I’ve stayed in Norfolk. The home is well equipped and simply stunning. All the glass facing out to the country was such a bonus, we enjoyed watching all the sheep and other wildlife wonder around. We found the house very clean and comfortable and had no problems with the interior or exterior. We will be coming back.

Nice location and property but everything was filth. All the glasses and cutlery were dirty and the fridge wasn't working. Back door wouldn't shut properly which petrified our female partners in the night and there were small black hairs in the bath tub upon arrival. We also left a speaker which we offered to pay to post back to us, after nearly a month of negotiating we finally had our item returned to which we were charged £25 for the cleaners to pick this up. Overall, not too impressed.

Misleading Listing – Dirty, Full of Spiders, and Uncomfortable Stay We booked this house in August and unfortunately had one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had with an Airbnb. The view is nice but The property from outside is good looking but inside was dirty, full of spiders and spider webs, and clearly not properly cleaned or maintained.( we spent the day we checked in to clean the house so we can stay for 3 weeks, after going shopping all the cleaning materials since she has none ) . • The furniture was outdated, the carpets were filthy and in desperate need of a deep clean. • The kitchen drawers hadn’t been cleaned in months, and the oven had a terrible smell. • Every morning we woke up to spiders above our heads, which was horrifying. One morning, my daughter woke up screaming because there was a spider on her pillow. That was the moment we decided to leave immediately, cutting our holiday short. It was terrifying and completely unacceptable, especially for families with children. The host clearly does not take care of the property—she hasn’t even bothered to remove the spider webs from the ceilings ( it used to be a barn, which explains the condition. On top of that, the listing photos were misleading—they only show clean, staged parts of the house, but the reality was very different. I would not recommend this property to anyone unless major cleaning and maintenance are done.
