About The Barns at Thorpe Market

The Norfolk Broads and the coastline are both within easy reach of The Barns at Thorpe Market, making it a practical base for days spent on the water or walking the shore, while birdwatching tours give guests a reason to venture out closer to home too. Norwich itself is close enough for a day trip if country air isn't quite enough.

The Barns at Thorpe Market occupies a converted 18th-century barn on Common Lane, with just three rooms decorated in a country style. Each has free WiFi, air conditioning and drinks provided, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward. A garden gives space to sit outside, and there's luggage storage and a laundry service for longer stays.

Breakfast is served on site, along with a restaurant and bar for evening meals and drinks, and a meeting room is available for those combining business with the trip. It's a small, quiet setup rather than a big hotel, well suited to guests who want a rural base with the Broads and coast on the doorstep.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The renovated barn room was very clean, pleasant and homely, and the bed was very comfortable. There were many signs that the comfort factor had been very well thought through. We met our hosts properly at breakfast which was taken in a lovely old room, complete with wood burner for the colder months. They were very welcoming, asking, as they did each day, if there was anything else we needed. Breakfast was very good and very relaxed - a full English which my husband praised, plus other cooked choices, and varieties of excellent yoghurts, muesli, granola and fruit, with toast, delicious local honey and home made marmalade. This is one of the best stays we have had, and we can't think of a single thing to improve it. If you want relaxation and comfort for your stay in the heart of Norfolk, this is it!

We had the most wonderful stay at The Barns B&B! From the moment we arrived, to when we were warmly welcomed by Amanda, the perfect hostess, who went above and beyond to make our visit exceptional. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was simply outstanding—without a doubt, the best we have had at any place we’ve stayed! Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, and the quality was second to none. The homemade marmalade was an absolute treat, adding the perfect finishing touch to an already superb meal. The accommodation itself was spotless, comfortable, and full of charm. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning. If you’re looking for a peaceful, welcoming, and truly special place to stay, The Barns B&B is a must! Thank you, Amanda, for a fantastic stay—we can’t wait to come back!
