For a holiday centred on the meditative patience of fishing, cast your net no further than Pigeon Cottage, a welcoming five-acre site on the outskirts of North Somercotes. The peaceful fishing pond comes with plenty of pegs along the shore—no slipping on muddy banks while you reel in the big one—and there's a tackle and bait shop on site for forgotten kit. Even if the fish aren't biting, you can chill on your pontoon watching ducks glide past and drinking in splendid countryside views.
After a day's angling, the on-site bar opens Thursday to Saturday in high season, with live music on Saturday evenings. Alternatively, fire up the barbecue or grab takeaway bites, or stroll five minutes into the village where a couple of pubs serve home-cooked food and real ales. Non-anglers will find plenty to explore nearby, from the grey seal colony at Donna Nook to the mudflats and sand dunes of Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve, popular with migrating birds. Dogs are welcome year-round, and facilities include showers, launderette, and chemical disposal points.

The facilities are second to none—everything is exceptionally clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully presented. What really sets this place apart is the kindness and genuine care shown by the owners and their family. The special touches throughout the park make it clear how much pride they take in creating a wonderful experience for their guests. The bar is fantastic and run by a truly lovely family who make every visit enjoyable. From the caravan and camping areas to the cottages, the whole site is full of fun, laughter, and a warm, friendly atmosphere. I honestly wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Every visit is a pleasure, and I can't recommend Pigeon Cottage highly enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We have had the absolute pleasure of staying at Pigeon Cottage and Harper's Shack, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel completely at home. The cottages themselves are beautifully maintained, spotless, comfortable, and full of charm. Everything has been thoughtfully provided to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable stay. What truly makes these places special, however, are the owners, Sue and Ray. They are genuinely the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. Their warmth, kindness, and hospitality are second to none. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, and they consistently go above and beyond to make sure every guest has the best possible experience. Sue and Ray put their heart and soul into everything they do, and it shows in every detail. Whether it's offering local recommendations, helping with anything you need, or simply taking the time to have a friendly chat, they make everyone feel welcome and valued. If you're looking for a place to stay where you'll be treated like family and experience true hospitality at its finest, Pigeon Cottage and Harper's Shack are the perfect choice. We can't wait to return and would give more than five stars if we could!

Fantastic little camp site, facilities are kept lovely and clean, beautiful senary,and a wonderful little onsite bar Harpers shack. Everyone's is made welcome and a great laugh, reasonable prices. The owners Sue and Ray have worked hard to make this a wonderful relaxing place to visit, they are the most wonderful people you could ever meet, there isn't anything to much trouble for themselves you have a fantastic holiday. I highly recommend this place 100%

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Me and my kids love it at pigeon cottage. the site is so clean and tidy and the owners Sue and Ray are always on hand if you need anything nothing is too much for them, you can see they have put their heart and soul into this place and always treats everyone like family. the cottages are spotless and so well maintained. harpers shack is a fun filled bar whether its bingo, live entertainment or line dancing practice everyone is always smiling and having fun and the beer/pop/ crisps are reasonable prices (cheaper than pubs at home) Sue, Ray and all the residents are like family to us now and we wouldn't want to go anywhere else. so thank you for making it feel like home from home to us and we will see you again soon xxx
