North Tyneside

This old coastguard cottage stands on The Spanish Battery in Tynemouth, one of several historic properties that once guarded the coast. Built into the landscape where it overlooks the sea, the priory, and the lifeboat museum, the house retains period character throughout, and the owners have displayed old photographs documenting its past. Five bedrooms sleep ten people across two floors, with three bathrooms shared between them. Downstairs there's a sitting room with a woodburner, a kitchen/dining room with a full range of appliances, a games room equipped with a pool table and air hockey, and a sun room. Upstairs, bedrooms include a kingsize with its own ensuite and access to a balcony. Essentials like bed linen, towels, wi-fi, electricity and heating are provided.
The cottage comes with parking for four cars, a lawned front garden with a barbecue, and a separate side garden with seating. A single pet is welcome to stay free. Tynemouth's award-winning beaches, Victorian boating lake, and Blue Reef Aquarium are nearby; North Shields harbour and its fish restaurants sit a short way along the coast. The promenade stretches towards Cullercoats and Whitley Bay, with local bars and cafés throughout the area. Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
