Whitley Bay Hideaway suits families, couples and groups of up to six looking for a coastal base within easy reach of the beach. The house has three bedrooms—a kingsize, a double and bunk beds—plus one bathroom, spread across two floors. Downstairs there's a living room with a wood-burning stove and smart TV, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, utility room with laundry facilities, and a separate toilet. Upstairs are the bedrooms and bathroom.
The kitchen is equipped for cooking properly, with an oven, induction hob, dishwasher and all the basics. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with a travel cot and highchair if needed. There's off-road parking for one car and a rear enclosed yard with an infrared sauna and seating area. The property does not permit smoking.
Whitley Bay's seafront is 200 yards away, with a promenade stretching towards Tynemouth and walks along to Cullercoats. The Spanish City Dome—a restored 1910 landmark—houses shops, restaurants and bars facing the sea. Park View shopping street is nearby for independent retailers. The property works well as a base for families wanting beach access and exploring the wider coast, or for groups needing affordable self-catering accommodation near the sea.

My wife, six-year-old daughter, and I stayed here for a week in August and had a lovely time. It's a short walk to the seafront and slightly longer stroll to two nearby beaches, lots of family-friendly restaurants and cafes, and several streets full of shops. On-site parking was really helpful, although a bit of a squeeze: you might struggle if you have a big SUV or similar. The house is in good repair, well stocked for self-catering, and has plenty of books, games, and DVDs for children of all ages, plus the grown-ups. The town itself is lovely, and the wider area has many family entertainments: Beamish, Northumberland Zoo, etc. We would be happy to book here again, if we make it back to Whitley Bay another year.

Brilliant place to stay in Whitley Bay, really nice trim and easy walking distance into town centre and Metro station. Very close to the sea.

We stayed for a month over Christmas and had a wonderful time. Catherine was a great, trustworthy host. She was quick to respond to any questions before and during our stay and even decorated the house with Christmas decorations and left Christmas activities and treats for our kids. The house was extremely clean, lovely and warm (with underfloor heating in the kitchen) and very well equipped for a long stay. We stayed with our 2 young children and found it to be a very family friendly house. Our children loved the kids room which included lots of fun toys and books for various ages. The sauna seemed brand new and was a great bonus on a cold winter night! We would definitely recommend the Whitley Bay Hideaway and we can’t wait to visit again in the future!

Brilliant stay here! The house was very clean and spacious with everything we needed for our stay. The location was good, with a short walk to the sea front and some great places to eat. We travelled with our 10 month old daughter and it was great to have a high chair and travel cot provided. It was also really useful being able to watch quick YouTube tutorials for the coffee machine. Would definitely stay again!
