1 The Old Corn Mill

North Yorkshire

Thoralby is a small village deep in the Yorkshire Dales, surrounded by the kind of landscape that draws people back year after year. The Old Corn Mill sits on the village edge, converted into a two-bedroom holiday let with views across Bishopdale and toward Morpeth Scar. A pub is within walking distance, and the market towns of Hawes and Leyburn are a short drive away, along with Aysgarth Falls and Semerwater Lake.

Downstairs there is a living and dining room with a smart TV and a separate kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals. Upstairs, one bedroom has a king bed and the other two singles, with a shower room between them. The essentials—heating, electricity, linen and towels—are covered, plus wifi. One car can park on site. The approach has 11 steps to the entrance. No smoking inside.

This works well for couples, friends travelling together, or a small family wanting to be based somewhere quiet for outdoor exploration. The Dales' footpaths radiate outward from here, and on a rainy day the independent shops and creamery in Hawes are close enough to reach easily.
