West Burton village sits in Wensleydale countryside where the Walden Valley widens out, surrounded by open moorland and fell walks. The Carriage House occupies the first floor of a converted building within extensive grounds that include a two-acre landscaped garden, waterfall, river frontage and fishing rights. The village itself has a notably traditional character—a large green, market cross, no through traffic—with a pub and shop both within walking distance.

Inside are two bedrooms (one double, one with twin singles), a bathroom with shower, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. The living room has a wood-burning stove and sofa bed. Bed linen, towels and wifi are provided. External steps lead up to the entrance. A shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer is available; private parking is on site. One pet stays free. The grounds contain an unfenced river and pond, so these need watching if young children are visiting.

Hawes and Leyburn are roughly ten miles away. From here you can reach Bolton Castle, the Black Sheep Brewery and Wensleydale Creamery easily, or base yourself for a broader exploration of the Dales. The village shop and pub both serve food.

Family run accommodation - great location, dog friendly, and fun additional extras such as pizzas on an evening. :)

Beautiful place to stay , lots of room and an amazing sized bed as a bonus . Quiet and peaceful too .Everything you could need provided. Very helpful hosts . Hot tub booked as extra and very much enjoyed . We can recommend this accommodation with an easy trip into York on the Askham Bar park and ride .

We have just left the carriage house today. We stayed for 2 nights to get away from home as our dog passed away suddenly. Jackie and Richard were so so kind to us and Jackie even came to our door to give me a hug. The house was in an excellent location. It was spacious and clean. Recommend

Myself and my family had the pleasure of staying at The Carriage House for a wedding that we were attending nearby. The communication from Jackie and Richard was first class from the outset. On arrival the house was absolutely spotless and they have thought about every little detail to make your stay perfect. I really cannot recommend this venue highly enough. If you are looking for a large, or a small place, to stay in North Yorkshire then do not hesitate to book The Carriage House Many Thanks for your superb hospitality
