This stone-built cottage dates from the 1700s and occupies high ground in Sedbusk, a small hamlet within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The landscape here draws walkers year-round; Hawes lies a mile downhill and serves as a base for exploring the wider Dales or heading towards Windermere within the hour. The building mixes original character—exposed stone, pine flooring, a working fireplace—with modern necessities like central heating and a full kitchen.
Four bedrooms sleep six: a super kingsize, a kingsize, a double and a single. Two bathrooms service the property. Downstairs holds a living room with Smart TV and DVD player, a dining space, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. An enclosed garden with seating and barbecue opens from the house; parking for three cars sits on site. Essentials including bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are covered; initial fuel for the wood burner is provided. One dog stays free. The cottage does not allow smoking.
An elevated position means views across open countryside. Simonstone, half a mile away, has a pub and restaurant; Hawes town centre offers more facilities and several more drinking establishments within walking distance.

Have just recently returned from a stay in the lovely Dalesview Cottage. It is a lovely property which is very comfortable, cosy, exceptionally well equipped and nicely furnished. It has a lovely garden which is south facing and has beautiful views both up and down Wensleydale. There are walks available from the cottage around and into the hills and also down into nearby Hawes. The hamlet where Dalesview is located, Sedbusk, is also a charming and pretty place. There’s also no passing traffic as there is no through road, We would definitely return to and recommend Dalesview Cottage to anybody thinking of going there.👍

What a special place! We had a wonderful two weeks at Dales View and are already longing to return. The cottage is spacious, very clean, well-equipped, well-maintained, and charming, with stunning views from the front garden in any weather. The sitting room, complete with wood-burning stove, is perfect for curling up with a book, and the cottage has not one, not two, but SIX special reading nooks, complete with blankets. We can't wait to return!
