Whitby sits on the North Yorkshire coast, but venture inland and you reach the Yorkshire Dales National Park—a landscape of open moorland, stone villages and market towns that feel removed from the everyday. The Farmhouse occupies grounds within this setting, offering views across the countryside from a semi-detached property that was fully refurbished in summer 2022.
The layout spreads across two floors. Downstairs holds a living and dining room with a 43-inch smart TV, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer all present. A bathroom with bath and shower completes the ground floor. Upstairs are four bedrooms—two with king beds, one with two singles and a pull-out single, and one with a single—alongside a second bathroom. The property sleeps eight and comes with essentials like bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating included. An enclosed garden with furniture and private parking on site come as standard. One pet stays free of charge.
From the door you can walk straight onto the moors, or a short stroll reaches Hawes, a traditional market town with shops, pubs and restaurants within half a mile. The Wensleydale Creamery and local museums are nearby, as is Semerwater for swimming and water sports. The property is non-smoking throughout.

Decided on a week in the Yorkshire Moors and this spot didn’t disappoint. Secluded enough that made the evenings peaceful yet close to enough amenities that made you feel like you weren’t far away from civilization. The cottage was lovely! Great views and wildlife. We were fortunate to have had some barn owls for neighbours; they provided hours of entertainment! Thank you Chris and Clare!

Stayed at the Bull Pen (self-catering accommodation) for the second time and were as delighted this time as we were a couple of years ago. Chris and Clare are excellent hosts and the accommodation is immaculate, very clean and very comfortable. The welcome hamper they provide is lovely and provides a great selection of provisions to get us started. The location is brilliant, being within easy striking distance of both the coast and inland attractions.

The Bull Pen @The Farmhouse is warm and welcoming. A great place to stay for a weekend or longer. It is beautifully laid out with lots of special touches, a welcome hamper, luxury toiletries in the bathroom, plenty of logs for the fire. Greeted on our arrival by Clare who made us very welcome. Loved our stay and will definitely want to come back again Thank you.

Wonderful event, we enjoyed everything. Great home cooked food, hot chocolate and marshmallows. Fabulous welcome and brilliant hosts. Informative talk and got some great pictures of the moon, we were very lucky to have a clear night. Would highly recommend.
