Derwent Cottage is a traditional stone-built property dating from the 1800s, now refurbished with contemporary essentials while keeping its character intact. It sits in the hamlet of Wrench Green on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park, surrounded by woodland and open countryside that makes this corner of Yorkshire distinctive. The coast lies just over 6 miles away—Scarborough, Filey, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby are all within easy driving distance.
The cottage accommodates three guests across two bedrooms: a king-size bed and a bunk bed upstairs, with a bathroom combining bath and shower. Downstairs, the living and dining room has a TV and electric fire, while the kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. Essentials like electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. There is parking for one car on site and a secure bike store.
One small dog stays free, and there is an enclosed rear garden with furniture and a BBQ (access involves 5 steps down to a sloping garden). The location appeals equally to walkers, cyclists and families seeking outdoor space. Dalby Forest, home to world-class mountain biking trails, is nearby, and the area is crisscrossed with woodland paths and cycling routes. No smoking throughout the property.
