About F and H Camping
Tucked beside a historic 1555 inn deep in the North York Moors National Park, F and H Camping offers a handful of cosy, eco-conscious wooden pods sleeping two – each fully insulated, double-glazed and equipped with heating, lighting and electricity. Beds convert between super-king doubles and twins, and you'll find a private wash block with shower, toilet and kitchenette nearby. Being a pub campsite, the Fox & Hounds next door serves meals and drinks in its restaurant, bar and sprawling beer garden, complete with a children's play area.
The setting is ideal for walkers and cyclists, with bridleways and trails radiating straight from the site into protected moorland, dales and river valleys. Whitby's dramatic coastline lies 25 minutes' drive away, Scarborough under an hour, and York – with its celebrated Minster and medieval Shambles – is just over an hour. Dogs are welcome year-round for a small extra charge. While the facilities are straightforward and some guests note the pods can feel a touch compact, the location and atmosphere more than compensate.

What visitors say
My personal experience was lovely - very peaceful, goats, peacocks, birds everywhere! Facilities were 'rustic', shower was lovely and warm with good pressure. Toilets and wash up area with dryer (at a cost). There are only 1/2 showers so I can imagine it's a bit tricky when the site is full. The track up to the site is a mile of single track which I was fine in a camper, but I can imagine wouldn't be pleasant towing a caravan! I would personally return!

We had the most amazing time on this beautiful little campsite. Stunning views and very quiet and serene. The site is very well kept and clean. Perfect for kids to play and roam safely.

Always amazing when we stay here. Always made to feel welcome. It’s an absolute blessing how peaceful and quiet it is. Such a beautiful place to go and stay with stunning surroundings. Plenty of walks for us and the dogs.

Absolutely loved this place. First time visiting but will be back. Idyllic location 2 miles from West Ayton down a country lane to the very end. No through traffic. Simply stunning location. Camping field at the other side of the farmyard. We stayed on a hard standing pitch with beautiful views with the cliffs of Bempton in the distance. Wonderful walks from the site which was great as we had our dogs with us. Hot hot hot weather so we took a trip to Clayton Bay 6 miles away to cool the dogs down. Father and daughter run this site and their farm and were lovely. Loved the wildlife - deer and some rare birds. Loved it. Thank you
