Frankland House is an 1868 Victorian terraced townhouse built as a ship officer's residence in Whitby's centre. The building has been restored throughout and accommodates groups and large families across six bedrooms and five bathrooms, sleeping up to 12. Three steps lead to the entrance; the layout rises through four floors, with ground-floor and first-floor living spaces, ensuite bedrooms on the second and third floors, and two further bedrooms sharing a shower room on the fourth level.
The ground floor contains a sitting room with large windows overlooking Whitby, its abbey and harbour. A first-floor kitchen/dining area has a range cooker, dishwasher and washer-dryer for self-catering. A second living room includes a television and DVD player. Bedrooms are furnished with king beds (all ensuite) or zip-and-link singles; two have roll-top baths in the room itself. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.
The property sits two minutes' walk from Whitby's cobbled streets, restaurants and seafront. The sandy beach is half a mile away. No smoking is permitted inside. Travel cots, highchairs and stairgates are available on request.
