Grange Farm Cottages - The Wests

The Wests is a single-storey converted barn cottage within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, set in a secluded courtyard facing south across Ryedale. Built from what was once a farm building, it now provides a self-contained holiday home for two on ground level throughout. The open-plan living space combines a sitting area with a dining zone, both opening via French doors onto an enclosed lawned garden with patio and barbecue. A separate kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, and the bedroom contains a king-size bed. The shower room has a cubicle shower. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included; underfloor heating is biomass-powered. One car can park on site, and one well-behaved pet stays free of charge. No smoking inside.

The location puts you within walking distance of Hutton le Hole and its Ryedale Folk Museum, while Helmsley with its weekly market and historic Duncombe Park lies ten miles away. Dalby Forest's scenic drive and visitor centre are easily reached, and the North York Moors Steam Railway departs from Pickering, passing through Goathland before reaching Whitby on the coast. Nunnington Hall, Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey are all close enough for day visits, with York about an hour's drive. The area suits walkers and cyclists particularly well; riding and golf are available locally. A pub is three-quarters of a mile away and a shop five miles distant.
