Goathland is a village deep in the North York Moors, moorland visible from its streets and Mallyan Spout Waterfall within walking distance. The coast at Whitby is about 20 minutes away. Heatherdene is a substantial detached house, originally built as a hunting lodge in 1899 and later a boarding school, with space enough for a large family gathering or group holiday without sharing with other guests.
Eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms are spread across three floors, with every bedroom having an ensuite. One dog can stay at no extra cost. The ground floor has two reception rooms (one with a wood-burner, the other with an open fire), a study, a kitchen with an Aga and electric cooker, and a utility room. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included; wood for the burner is provided initially. On-site parking takes ten cars, and there is an enclosed rear garden with a patio. The kitchen has what you need to cook for a crowd.
No smoking throughout. Families with young children will find a travel cot, highchair, stairgate and fireguard already here.
