How Stean George Retreats - Goyden Pot
North Yorkshire
Goyden Pot is a single-storey wooden lodge sleeping four, all on one level. You enter into a combined living and kitchen space with a woodburner, electric cooking facilities, and a fridge; there is no television. One bedroom contains two bunk beds. The shower room has a walk-in shower and toilet. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial fuel for the stove.
Outside, your private wood-fired hot tub seats four. The garden has a firepit and barbecue, though these are shared with other properties on the site. Bike, surfboard and kayak storage is also shared. On-site parking accommodates two cars. There are five steps down into the garden. No smoking inside the lodge.
The location sits within How Stean Gorge itself, surrounded by limestone scenery and the Yorkshire Dales. Walkers can step directly onto trails that range from gentle riverside paths to more demanding routes through the gorge. The area is known for gorge walking, cave exploration including the Goyden Pot network, and climbing. The site has a via ferrata course. This suits families, small groups and couples looking for a base for outdoor activity, or simply for somewhere quiet in moorland countryside. One dog stays free.
