Scruton is a small village on the edge of Northallerton, with the North York Moors nearby and Stonebridge Fishing Lakes within reach. Hunters Lodge is a detached former barn, converted to keep its character—exposed beams run through the rooms and a wood burner anchors the living space, which looks out over the countryside. Everything is on the ground floor, making it straightforward to manage.
The two bedrooms sleep five: one has a double bed (4ft 6in), the other a single (3ft) alongside zip-and-link singles, also 3ft. The bathroom has a bath with shower over it. The kitchen is large enough for proper cooking, fitted with a range, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are included. Oil central heating keeps the place warm. An enclosed garden with furniture sits to the rear, and there is parking for one car on site. One dog is welcome at no extra cost. No smoking indoors.
