Pickering and the North York Moors lie within reach of Ling at Holly House, a recently renovated stone cottage in the small village of Newton-on-Rawcliffe. The market town itself, four miles away, has cafés, restaurants, pubs and a weekly market; Dalby Forest draws walkers and cyclists, and the heritage railway runs steam trains through the moors. The property makes a proper base for exploring rather than a roadside stop.
Everything is on the ground floor. The open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and sitting areas, with a smart TV and a dishwasher to handle the cooking. Through to the bedroom—a super king-size bed with plenty of storage—and four steps up into an ensuite with a walk-in shower. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are included. Underfloor heating keeps the place warm. Out front, six stone steps lead to a south-facing courtyard where you can sit with coffee in the morning; beyond that is a shared wildflower garden with a picnic bench and views over a paddock. There is private parking for one car on site, and an electric vehicle charging point if you need it.

Bracken Cottage is holiday cottage perfection. From the moment we arrived we knew we were staying somewhere special. A wonderful welcome basket and freshly cut flowers from the owners garden greeted us. The cottage is immaculate, and beautifully presented, and it also smells amazing. It is evident that a great deal of thought and attention has gone into making guests feel comfortable and at home. The beds are luxurious and cosy, like sleeping on a cloud, we all slept so well. The shower is brilliant, the toiletries smell divine and the bathroom towels are perfect. Julie and Nigel have done an exceptional job of making this holiday cottage the very best and we can’t wait to return to our new favourite spot in North Yorkshire. Thank you!

Lovely, beautiful, luxery and sustainable cottage in magnificent surroundings with much to see and do within an hour's travel from the cottage. The cottage is recently renovated, equipped with underfloor heating in combination with a heatpump, tastefully furnished and decorated and provided with all the comforts you need. The bathroom is stocked with various delightful products from Land&Water. Friendly hosts give you a warm welcome and let you enjoy your well-deserved holyday or short break.

Comfortable, modern holiday accommodation. Our hosts Julie and Nigel, we're very welcoming. Made an excellent retreat for our visit to North Yorkshire. As it is located in dark countryside, we had the delight of not just star gazing but also viewing a showingofthe Aurora Borealis
