The North York Moors National Park surrounds this stone-built house on the Hawnby Estate. Rolling hills and woodland make up the immediate landscape, with the kind of quiet that suits both families wanting downtime and groups of friends after a retreat together. Lockton House itself holds five bedrooms across two floors – a mix of kingsize, super kingsize and single beds – with three bathrooms between them. Two bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms; the other three share a shower room upstairs.
Ground floor living centres on a kitchen with electric and Aga cooking, dishwasher, and the kit for proper cooking. The dining room next door has a woodburner, as does the sitting room with its Smart TV. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. A utility room contains a washer-dryer. Outside, you have barbecue facilities, garden furniture, parking for four cars, and a wood-fired hot tub for two. The converted barn across from the main house contains a games room with pool table, table tennis and darts. One dog stays free. No smoking inside.
