You enter The Granary into an open-plan ground floor—a single vaulted living space with low beams and solid oak boards underfoot, the original granary features still visible. One side holds the sitting area with Freeview TV and DVD; the other side is the kitchen and dining zone, fitted with an electric cooker, dishwasher and all the basics for self-catering. A utility room sits off the side. Two bedrooms lead from here: one with a king-size bed, the other with two singles. The single bathroom has a bath with shower over. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with wifi, heating and electricity.

Outside, a lawned garden with patio and portable barbecue faces out across the grounds. There is private parking for two cars on site. The property sits within a 3-acre woodland area shared with other holiday buildings—a stream runs through the grounds and picnic benches are scattered about. Ayriel Studios is nearby, and a pub lies within a mile. Whitby itself is a short drive away via country roads; the North Yorkshire Moors stretch around you. No smoking indoors.

Lovely get away place. If peace and quiet in a stunning location is what you want then this is ideal. Downsides, it's a bit off the beaten track and there's no views from the windows but other than that it's great.

Got back from a Monday-friday stay 11-15th April feeling relaxed and re-freshed. Absolutely beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet, peaceful part of the countryside. Cottage was well presented and well furnished and maintained, had everything we needed for an enjoyable break. The only downside was the noise from the above annexe but wasn't too intrusive, certainly didn't spoil our stay. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay and loved exploring the countryside .
