Moon River Cottage

Moon River Cottage is an older property set right beside Whitby's working harbour, with the estuary running past just beyond a fence. The position matters: boats pass within arm's reach, and from the private patio you watch the water traffic shift with the tides. The railway station is visible too, bringing the North York Moors Steam Railway into view as trains arrive from Pickering.

The cottage spreads across two floors. Downstairs holds an open-plan living and dining area with a kitchen fitted for everyday cooking, plus a shower room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: a double and two singles, sleeping five in total. You have the place to yourself, with parking for two cars on site and essentials like Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels provided. The terraced garden wraps around three sides of the building, catching the sun throughout the day.

Whitby town centre is a five-minute walk away, with its long beach, abbey and restaurants all close by. The North York Moors lie inland, and the coast stretches north to Sandsend and south to Robin Hood's Bay. Children need supervision near the unfenced estuary. The property is non-smoking.
