No 6 Swallowholm Cottages
North Yorkshire
View on Google MapsNo 6 Swallowholm Cottages is a Grade II listed cottage built in the 1800s, now renovated with period character intact. It sits alone in the hamlet of Arkengarthdale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, reached via a farm track and surrounded by open countryside. The property sleeps two and is yours entirely for the duration of your stay.
Bedrooms and bathrooms are on the ground floor: a kingsize room with an en-suite combining bath, shower and toilet. Upstairs is one open-plan living space where a woodburner, television with Freesat and DVD player, and dining and kitchen areas all share the same room, with windows that frame views across the dale. The kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooking, a dishwasher and microwave. Heating is electric (underfloor on the ground floor), and wi-fi, bed linen, towels and logs for the stove come with your booking. A small sitting area with garden furniture sits outside, and there is parking for one car on site.
This suits couples looking for a quiet break and anyone who walks or cycles—trails start from the door. A pub serving food is within walking distance, and the market town of Reeth with shops and cafés lies under four miles away. The cottage does not permit smoking, and one pet can stay without extra charge.
