Red House Farm Cottages - The Old Sheaf Store
North Yorkshire

The North York Moors and Heritage Coast sit within reach of this part of North Yorkshire, making the region a natural base for exploring the area's walking routes and coastal villages. Red House Farm Cottages – The Old Sheaf Store is a converted 18th-century barn that forms one of three holiday properties on a working farm, each independent but sharing access to communal facilities spread across the grounds.
The layout reverses the usual pattern: both bedrooms are on the ground floor, each a double with a television, while a stone spiral staircase leads up to the first floor where the main living space opens out. A woodburner, comfortable seating, and a small kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine occupy this upper level. There is one bathroom. The property sleeps four, and one well-behaved pet is welcome. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard, along with wifi.
Guests have the run of the 1½-acre grounds, which include a duck pond, sitting areas, and a barbecue. An adults' games room with a snooker table is shared with other residents on site (under-16s can play under supervision). The farm also has an indoor heated swimming pool, a gym and a steam room available for an additional fee. There is on-site parking, and a bike store for those exploring the surrounding countryside. Note that the pond is large and unfenced, so may not suit those with mobility issues. No smoking is permitted inside.
