Sayers Yard

Whitby's harbourside location means the North Yorkshire coast is essentially on your doorstep. The town itself is dense with independent shops, galleries, bookshops and places to eat or drink, while Whitby Abbey's dramatic 13th-century ruins and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum are among the notable draws. A pub sits just 50 yards away; the beach and restaurants are roughly a mile's walk.

Sayers Yard is arranged across three floors. The ground floor has an open-plan living and kitchen space where you can cook proper meals; upstairs is a twin bedroom and bathroom, and above that a double bedroom tucked into the eaves. The property has character—exposed beams, a wooden spiral staircase—and essentials like bed linen, towels and heating are covered. One well-behaved pet can stay free. Note that the stairs are steep and narrow in places.

The cottage suits couples and families wanting to base themselves in the heart of Whitby without being tied to formal accommodation. Street parking is available outside.
