North Yorkshire offers everything from wild moorland to coastal towns, and this detached cottage puts you within reach of it all. The property sits in a quiet lane in its village—shops are 300 yards away, pubs and restaurants just 200 yards. You get the whole place to yourself: four bedrooms spread across the main house and a separate annexe, three bathrooms, and space for eight guests. Shaws Cottage sleeps two or four in each bedroom depending on which you choose.
The main living areas have character in abundance: oak beams, stone fireplaces and open fires, with French doors opening onto a large enclosed garden where you can sit undisturbed. There are two kitchens, one with an Aga (available October to April), the other with electric cooking. Both have full equipment for self-catering. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided; heating covers the colder months. One dog is welcome. The property does not permit smoking.
Walking the North York Moors, exploring the Heritage Coast or discovering market towns are all possible from here. The steam railway, Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are within easy reach. There is a bat colony in the grounds, so the garden comes with wildlife as neighbours.
