Shepherds Den

Everything at Shepherds Den is on the ground floor. You arrive into a combined living and dining space with a woodburner, then move through to a properly equipped kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and microwave. The bedroom holds a kingsize bed; the shower room has a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included, along with fuel for the burner and a welcome pack of local produce and home baking from the owners, who farm the surrounding land.

The cottage sits among open farmland in North Yorkshire, near Chapel Row. An enclosed garden with seating looks across the fields; there is parking for two cars on site. One dog can stay free of charge, though must be kept on a lead given the sheep in the locality. The landscape is walking country year-round, with trails through the wider Yorkshire countryside. Bedale, a market town with a Tuesday market and local independent shops, is three miles away. No smoking inside the property.
