This cottage was part of a coaching inn built in 1840, when the Yorkshire coast was known for smuggling as much as seafaring. The conversion has kept the character of that history while providing modern comfort—it sits in Ravenscar, between Whitby and Scarborough, with open countryside and sea visible from the windows. Two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles) and a bathroom occupy the ground floor; the living room is upstairs, positioned to catch those views across the Heritage Coast.
The kitchen has an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave for self-catering. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included. There's a woodburner in the living room, a patio with seating, parking for two cars, and an electric car charging point. One well-behaved pet stays free. No smoking inside.
This works well for families and couples wanting to walk or cycle; paths lead directly from the property, and the area suits dog walkers. Golf courses are nearby. Arrival is after 4pm, departure before 10am.
