Primrose Cottage is a stone barn conversion on Stape Head Farm, a working property in the heart of the North York Moors. The building retains its character—high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams run through the interior—while the ground floor layout keeps everything accessible. One bedroom with a double bed (4ft 6in), a shower room, and an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting room are all you get, which is precisely the point: there's room enough for two without clutter.
Large windows and glass doors open onto an enclosed patio where you can watch the farm's rhythms unfold. Cattle, horses, deer at dawn and dusk, buzzards and owls overhead—the views shift through the day and seasons. The kitchen is fully fitted for cooking. Heating and hot water come from an air source heat pump with underfloor heating; Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Parking for two cars sits on site, and a bike store is available.
Walkers and cyclists will find themselves at the edge of the North York Moors National Park with trails and bridleways beginning at the farm gate. Pickering is nearby. The location suits anyone wanting genuine quiet and a base for outdoor exploration, though do expect the presence of a working farm—this is not a manicured retreat. No smoking indoors.

Absolutely spot on. If you want a quiet place to stay , out of the way , this is the place. 30minutes from Whitby and about 55minutes from Scarborough (Not like it used to be) . We just drove through. The farm as converted a small ground floor barn. To two well appointed small barn conversion. You will want for nothing. Absolutely brilliant. We loved it. Everything you need is there, except your food! Paul and Deb the owners are extremely approachable and Helpful. You just can't go wrong . You park on the premises, no problem. It is really quite and at the back of the building you have raised large terrace seating area with a table and chairs , with a good few of woods , fields etc. Our end of the building had two single beds which were extremely comfortable. In a nut shell we will be back Highly, highly recommend 👌

The static Caravan at Stape Head Farm offers a very practical accommodation and stunning views of surrounding hills, farmland and you get to hear a wide variety of singing birds. The hosts are amazing and very hospitable. We had a great time as a family of 4.
