Giltspur

North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

Giltspur stands on the grounds of Rawcliffe House, a converted farm dating to around 1770, surrounded by 42 acres of open countryside in North Riding Forest Park. The cottage retains original stone walls and rustic beams from its agricultural past. You get the whole place to yourself: three bedrooms (one with a kingsize bed and ensuite, two with single beds), a second bathroom, and a ground-floor living and dining space with French doors opening onto a patio.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals, with an electric cooker, dishwasher, and full-size fridge. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. There is parking for three cars on site. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer is available. The shared grounds include a sitting-out area, viewing deck and children's play area; a stream and pond run through the land.

Walkers and cyclists will find bridle paths and cycle trails from the door, and the North York Moors National Park is close by. Pickering, home to the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway, is six miles away. The nearest pub is within a mile. No smoking is permitted inside.
