Whitby's working harbour, steep cobbled streets and independent shops are within walking distance of Tidal Retreat, a first-floor apartment on the Yorkshire Heritage Coast. The Cinder Track—a disused railway line turned walking route—runs towards Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough; the riverside path follows the Esk from your doorstep. Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes are easily reached by car, each with their own character and maritime connections. The North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales are also within reach for a day out.
The apartment has one bedroom with a king bed, a bathroom with bath and shower, and an open-plan living and kitchen area. You get a parking space, wifi, heating, bed linen and towels included. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge. No smoking indoors.
Whitby itself hosts festivals and events throughout the year, and the tour bus reaches Whitby Abbey and St Mary's Church on the clifftop. Fish and chip shops, antique dealers and pubs line the streets. This works as a base for exploring the coast or the national parks, or simply for a quieter break by the sea.
