Wold View Cottage

North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

Walking in, you'll find an open-plan ground floor that brings the living, dining and kitchen areas together—a woodburner sits in the living space, the kitchen is fitted with electric cooking and a dishwasher, and there's a separate toilet. Upstairs, one bedroom has a double bed and the other two singles; both have their own TV. The shower room is compact but complete. Outside, there's an enclosed patio with garden furniture and a shared lawned garden to use, plus parking for two cars and a bike store if you're cycling locally.

Wold View Cottage stands near The Old Post Office in the quieter reaches of North Yorkshire, close enough to reach the market towns of Malton and Pickering, Castle Howard, or the coast at Whitby or Scarborough within an hour. The village of Rillington a short distance away has two pubs, a post office and a general store; Scampston nearby has a farmhouse bakery and coffee shop. The surrounding landscape has inspired artists including David Hockney and Robert Fuller, who maintains a gallery in Thixendale. Heating is oil central (with underfloor heating downstairs), and the essentials—electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi—are covered. The property is non-smoking throughout.
