About Springhouse Boutique Holiday Park

Tucked into Slaley Forest in the North Pennines, Springhouse Boutique Holiday Park lives up to its boutique billing with immaculately kept facilities and a genuinely peaceful atmosphere. The small site – just a couple of dozen pitches split between Cedar Close hardstandings and Hazel Court grass-and-gravel plots – feels more exclusive than crowded, and the showers are spotless with reliably hot water. An on-site restaurant and bar serve good food when you fancy a meal without the washing-up, while a spacious play area keeps younger campers entertained.

Location-wise, you're brilliantly placed: Corbridge's Roman relics and artisan shops are 15 minutes away, Hexham's abbey and riverside cafés equally close, and Hadrian's Wall Path is a short drive for serious hikers. Derwent Reservoir, dark-sky walks and forest trails all sit on the doorstep. The only niggle some visitors mention is that certain facilities can feel a touch tired in places, but the friendly staff and tranquil forest setting more than compensate.

What visitors say

Possibly generous with four but we've had a good week's holiday for low cost in the Heritage static caravan. The fundamentals are fine: nice newish clean caravan, spacious, good kitchen, comfortable bed, good shower, en suite loo. Lovely location too, peaceful but not too far from Hexham and other tourist sports. Lots of nature: rabbits everywhere, owls and the like. No idea what people are on about with the road to the site, it's just like any rural holiday park and people got Class A motorhomes in, our XC90 was a doddle! The details have let it down a touch for us. The WiFi worked for some days but not at all on others (and phone signal is patchy at best). No WiFi means Freeview but our TV kept switching back to one channel no matter what we did. Mildly annoying that we couldn't get the gas heating to work, thankfully not too cold. I did ask the lady at reception to look at it but never heard anything. Hoover doesn't suck anything up, no oven gloves provided, salt and pepper dispensers empty. If these things were addressed we'd absolutely come back.

Booked a tourer pitch and altho the furthest away from the toilet block that can’t mar the review… the park is well kept with EHU and water.. A lovely forest walk with the dog and a substantial Sunday lunch with fresh vegetables… Staff are very friendly and helpful Will definitely stay here again when in the area

Great location. Loved waking up to the sounds of nature (instead of the usual sirens). Friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Nice little shop for basics.
