Beech Cottage sits on the edge of Rothbury, a small market town in Northumberland where independent shops, pubs and cafés line the streets. The surrounding landscape—the Simonside Hills, the Coquet Valley and access to walking country—makes this a natural base for exploring the region on foot or by bike. Golf enthusiasts will find themselves next to Rothbury Golf Club, with views across the course from the property.

The cottage is a stone-built end terrace completed in 2021, arranged over two floors. Downstairs, a combined living and kitchen space opens onto an enclosed garden with patio and decked areas; the kitchen has an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and the essentials for self-catering. There is also a separate dining room and a bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs, one bedroom has a zip-and-link super king bed and the other a standard king bed, with a shower room between them. The property sleeps four and is yours alone. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; there is private parking for two cars and somewhere to store bikes or canoes. Dogs stay free.

Rothbury itself is walkable—less than a mile away—with a riverside park, an award-winning butcher and free parking throughout the town. The Ranges, part of the National Park, lie a short drive further for more ambitious days out. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage.

We stayed in Beech Cottage - A fabulous, contemporary and spotlessly clean! A perfect spot to stay, close to Rothbury- do the walk on the public footpath thru the golf club to the town (starts 40mtrs down the road). The cottage is very comfy and the bed provided wonderful sleep! It's well appointed and the bathrooms are a good size. Very handy having 2 bathrooms- one downstairs and one upstairs. I definitely 100pc recommend this cottage!

Had a wonderful stay here. Lovely and clean and well equipped. Views were amazing. Nicely out of the way but still within walking distance of shops. Christmas decorations were a lovely touch too. Would definitely book to go back.

Lovely cottage, with a little wooden patio and small lawn. Good parking. Lane quite narrow, bit of a walk from the town, but not too far. Could only be improved by more kitchen utensils/equipment.

Stayed in Fairway View Cottage. The cottage is amongst 4 others all with fantastic views. Short distance into Rothbury with all the shops we needed. Coop for food and essentials. The cottage itself is lovely, spacious and well laid out. Comfortable super king size beds in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. We found the WiFi quite slow and intermittent, phone signal (O2) good. Although the cottage was very clean the curtains in living room were stained and could do with a wash. Having stayed in many holiday cottages we did find a few bits were not supplied. No kitchen roll or oil. We also didn’t find any kitchen tongs. Some bigger mugs would also be good. In the information it mentioned about the decking can be slippery, for me the decking is an accident waiting to happen. When we arrived it was dry but our grandson fell over straight away. He loved playing on the decking but kept slipping over. Very dangerous for anyone not good on their feet which is a shame as the view is amazing. I’ve never come across decking that’s so slippery. It either needs cleaning more regularly or some non slip matting put on it. Overall we had a great time but the decking would put me off returning.
