Rothbury and its surrounding countryside draw walkers, cyclists and stargazers in equal measure. The village sits within reach of the Simonside Hills, Cragside estate, and England's first designated Dark Sky Park, with the Kielder Observatory an hour's drive away for serious night-sky watching. Percy Boynton Cottage occupies a quiet hamlet location just outside the village, accessed by footpath or field right-of-way for an easy walk into Rothbury's pubs and shops.
The cottage spreads across three floors: a living and dining room with a wood-burning stove and Freeview TV on the ground floor; a kitchen with electric cooking, dishwasher and washing machine for self-catering stays; two double bedrooms and a shower room above. The property sleeps four. An enclosed garden with a living willow dome sits to one side, and there is parking for two cars on site. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and logs for the stove are included; the heating runs on oil. No smoking inside.
The rural setting makes this suitable year-round—the wood-burner keeps things cosy in winter, while summer brings cushioned garden furniture and access to the miles of walking and cycling routes that criss-cross the national park. The coast is a short drive; Alnwick Castle and its associated attractions lie within reasonable reach.
