Bertys Beach View

Northumberland

View on Google Maps

Newbiggin-by-the-Sea sits on the Northumberland coast as a working fishing village where cobles still venture out to sea and marine life—dolphins and seals among them—can be spotted from the water's edge. The promenade stretches a mile along the shore, and Bertys Beach View occupies the upper floors of a period building in its heart, positioned to catch views across the bay and out towards The Couple, the only such offshore sculpture on the northeast coast.

The flat is yours alone across two storeys. Downstairs holds the living and dining space with a 50-inch smart TV and doors opening onto a balcony furnished for sitting out. The kitchen has what you need to cook—electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine. Upstairs, one bedroom contains a double bed, the other two single beds, and the bathroom has a bath with shower. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are included. One car can park on site, and smoking is not permitted.

You are steps from the beach and the promenade's full length. A small maritime museum and gift shop sit at one end. Essentials like a butcher and greengrocer operate in the village. The building itself houses a café below—guests receive a welcome voucher for coffee and a homemade ice cream.
