Hogarth No. 2
Northumberland
Hogarth No. 2 is a recently refurbished ground-floor cottage in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, decorated in deep greens and golds. Everything you need sits on one level: a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a sofa bed that sleeps an extra guest, a kitchen with a full range of appliances, and a shower room. The essentials—electricity, bed linen and towels—are provided.
The cottage stands in the village centre, a short walk from shops, cafés and pubs. The promenade and beach are within a few hundred yards. Newbiggin itself has a working fishing heritage, an ice cream parlour, and regular music nights in the local bars. In the bay you may spot visiting dolphins. The Oldest Lifeboat House in England is here, and Sean Henry's sculpture The Couple overlooks the bay. Nearby towns include Morpeth (15 minutes away), Whitley Bay and Tynemouth with their priory and restaurants, and the working harbour at Amble. No smoking inside the property.
