Hexham and the Northumberland National Park sit at the heart of one of England's most remote upland regions. Grindon Cartshed is a converted barn at Grindon Farm, positioned to take in long-distance countryside views from its full-length windows. The whole property is yours alone, arranged on a single storey with three bedrooms, three en-suite bathrooms, and accommodation for six people and one dog.
Each bedroom contains either a double or two single zip-and-link beds—flexible enough for couples, families or friends travelling together. The living and dining space has a woodburner and Freeview TV; the kitchen is equipped for self-catering with an electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Underfloor heating, electricity, Wi-Fi and bed linen are provided. Outside, a garden with patio and furniture overlooks the surrounding fields, and there is private parking on site. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Lovely place to stay. The farm is run by a family who are fantastic hosts really made us welcome and nothing is to much trouble.

We had a wonderful time in Cartshed Cottage and the hosts were really helpful and kind. Many places of interest are not far away, you can even walk to see the Hadrian's Wall. We loved the view in the morning and evening. Full equipped kitchen, hot showers and stable internet.

Great location for exploring and peace n quiet. Jackie is the perfect host. Made sure we had everything. Gave us advice on where to visit. And buses. 3 large double rooms 2 super kingsized beds. All rooms en suite. Slept 6. Well stocked kitchen, comfy sitting room. Spectacular views from lounge. Disabled friendly, especially those with poor mobility. Chckens came to visit twice a day. They loved cooked broccoli and cauli. Wish we had more time there. So much to see.
